This is the second shot taken as the sky was clearing after a major storm front had passed. Shot from my building's hallway end overlooking the Kailua pier in Kona. The sun had already set and the high storm clouds were catching on fire. Paul (Microsoft co-founder) Allan's mega-yacht is visible to the left in the bay with his mega-mansion hidden by the trees on the point. Goes to show that the best things in life are free...

This shot taken at Kua Bay was actually photographed by a friend with a digital point & shoot which I adjusted a bit in Photoshop. Its low-resolution and cliche subject matter is compensated by the great framing and spectacular sky.

This is a typical soft sunset in Kona characterized by the pastel-looking colors created by the ever-present vog. This was shot at Shark's Hole - a locally popular swimming hole located at Old A's just north of Kailua-Kona.
