Shot at sunrise in Kailua-Kona on the lava sea-bench over looking the old Chart House into the heart of town. This is an HDR image comprised of five bracketed exposures merged (tone-mapped) to create what my eyes were seeing but the camera could not capture in a single image...
One of my favorite photos, this was shot at the end of the Road-to-the-Sea in the Manuka Natural Area Preserve on the southwest coast of Hawaii. The moon is seen rising over Na Pu'u a Pele cinder cone with the sky reflected in a fresh water pond formed in the jagged A'a lava.
A volcanic cinder cone (Pu'u) and green sand beach in the Manaka Natural Area Preserve on the SSW coast of the Big Island of Hawaii.
